Project Life Week 23

This week I went digital!!!

I was inspired to do so since I had a blast using the app A Beautiful Mess.  I added some hand written journaling cards, but honestly, I loathe my hand writing.

This week I started my summer break and highlighted that on my left side page.  I have worked in the school district for about four years now.  I started as a sub, in the 2011/12 school year I was hired on in a short term position (meaning - ends at the end of school year) and again for the 2012/13 session.  Well, at the end of this year I was rehired in a probationary/permanent position.  I am very excited and scared at the same time, but I have faith that I am being led in the right path.

One of my many goal this summer is to introduce some new life skills to my lil'man.  I picked cooking. To be honest, I picked this because Nolan is eating me out of house and home, and every time he wants something to eat he's asking me to make it for him.  We started with making brownies, and as you can see, licking the beaters was his favorite part of the process.

Finally, I had to add the adorable picture text that I received from my kiddos when they didn't get Starbucks and I did.

I have three places that I am truly most happy and of course my scrap space tops the list, but cooking in the kitchen and working in the yard aren't far behind. Well, you cant have a beautiful summer with a yard that the winter ravaged.  I spent my first day of my summer break cleaning up the yard, only to realize that some major replanting had to be done.  Beautifying the yard is another project that I will be accomplishing this summer.

There is no better way to end the week than relaxing in the pool with my family and eating BBQ!!!

All of the journal cards are from Studio Calico Project life kits; Planetarium, Halley's Comet and from the Big Screen add on kit and March digital printable.

Project Life week 22

Lots of pictures of my girlie's first swim meet this week.

There are two reasons for that...

  • I'm SO VERY excited for her!!!
  • I was recovering from being very sick and only started feeling better a few days before the meet.
Here is the full spread...

Like I mentioned before, I was recovering from being really sick.  So, I used a lot of my space on the left side to journal.  I journaled a week in review and focused on the difference in my idea and my lil'man's idea of what 'clean' is.

The right side is all about the swim meet.  My girlie, Payton, did such a great job for her first meet ever.  It sure did tucker her out though. Nolan had lots of fun playing, visiting and photo bombing!

All the journal cards are from Studio Calico Project Life kits: Planetarium, Halley's Comet, Roundabout, and Currents printable.

Welcome to my blog, life unscripted...

My life is totally unscripted, and at first that was just not working for me.  I had plans, dreams and expectations for how my life was to go, but as many of us know God had a different path for me. It took me a long while to figure that out, but when I did my life changed into this beautiful (yet crazy) life. It was seventeen years ago when I finally came to this realization and my reward was that I met my knight in shining armor, and we have been falling more in love everyday since.  We have two gorgeous blessing that we love to death, that keep us on our toes, that make us laugh until we cry, and at times ride our last nerves on their journey to adulthood.

Last December I jumped feet first back into scrapbooking, with a little push from my forever friend (sister from another mother) Trina Jaynes.  She kept talking about this new way of scrapbooking and how easy it was.  Knowing how easily I get obsessed with the little details, I was skeptical that I would be able to keep it.  After a whole year of talking and seeing her amazing albums I realized that I was ready.  So, January 1st I started my first Project Life album.  Well, I started taking pictures anyway.  I actually started putting the album together during week 9.  I quickly caught up and will never stop documenting our everyday life.  I also started created traditional layouts and playing with digital elements.  My creativity is unlimited.

By the way, the photos that are displayed on my blog were taken by Trina Jaynes follow her at www.tejaynes.blogspot.com and on Instagram @tejaynes.
